Bluebell Railway 8th May

Postby Sprintex » Wed May 09, 2007 4:14 pm

My misses and I went to the Bluebell Railway yesterday (she likes trains as much as me :D ). Weather was changeable but at least it only rained on the two occasions we happened to be indoors - looking round the loco shed and inside the museum-room!!

Here's a selection of pics taken by us both, I won't caption most of them cos I know next-to-feck-all about steamers

Plenty more awaiting overhaul but too dark in there to get good pics :(

Nice shots there, i visited that line for the first time a couple of weeks ago, and i must say i was very impressed, will definately be returning again.

I agree with the darkness in the shed, i couldnt really get any pics in there, best one i got was probably this one:

We'd booked to go on the "Bluebell Special" train - a 1913 Observation Car which is the only surviving one of only three built apparently
Image

pulled by this little guy . . . 0-6-0T "Fenchurch" number 672. . . all say "aaaaah"

getting up some steam

here he comes!!

chugging uphill under the three-arch bridge

running around at Kingscote

and here he comes again to take us back to our waiting Cream Tea . . .

Hope you enjoyed the pics as much as we enjoyed our day, happy in the knowledge that we've helped towards the ongoing loco-restorations and the track-extension plans in some small way :)

Just missed out on seeing me with jam and cream plastered all over me moosh . . . camera memory full

Thanks, Geezer, for all those pics of "proper locos" !! A nice selection, and not a blue oversized toaster in sight (sniff, sniff !!)
