Gen up on DCC wiring for power bus

Post by samsonwilliams »

Decided to gen up on DCC wiring for power bus/droppers and all matters related. Decided to purchase to books online which explains basics. Stupid me neglected to check the authors and where the books come from, in a word USA. So they got american slang/term/dollars the electrical terms are American with different voltages. You might say general rule of thumb blah! blah!...maybe so,but not for me.
So can anyone suggest any good old english books on DCC wiring. Thanks...

I didn't read any books, just got on and did it.
That worked fine as I didn't want any extra power inputs or fancy 'tricks'
I think it's easy to incorporate too many mostly useless functions, but it's
up to you as to what you want to do and how big your layout plans are.

The only difference in wiring for DCC in the US is the primary side of transformers will be for 120v AC at 60 Hz not 240v @ 50Hz. this has absolutely no effect on the DCC side. They may use American wire gauge numbers where we use number of strands x their thickness, but a quick question on here will get you the recommended UK sizes. And as for prices "How long does it take to get into print, and how much does the exchange rate fluctuate in that period of time. The only place the American idiom may be confusing is with track terminology, Peco's how to pamphlets cover most things and of course there's always the internet.
Growing old, can't avoid it. Growing up, forget it!
