OOH, just in time for their recent and very welcome 'Blue Spots' announcement among other items. But the door is locked, and no amount of trying to force it open works...

Those are the very items, the final BR variant of the LNER LWB fully braked vans for rapid transport of fish to market. For all the talk of 'windcutters', the fish workings were way the fastest of UK steam worked freights, with the long distance runs such as Aberdeen-London matching express passenger schedules, with a pacific typically up front, or a V2 if the load was relatively light. This meant the fish could be with the wholesale trade little over twelve hours from landing. So fast, that as experience was gained the guard's van was positioned inside the train to avoid too much of poor man being wagged about at the tail end.
