Askham - N Gauge

Post by YorkRail »

Hi everyone, some of you might remember me as the guy who had a 00 gauge running on a dado rail round my living room. It was fun for a while but hard to view and maintain. I sold up and switched over to N gauge.

I’ve had the basics of this layout for a while but it’s only the last 6 months or so that I’ve really started working on it.

Lots of pictures and lots going on. It’s a 30 x 23 inch layout of a heritage line, loosely based on North Yorkshire where I live.

I’ve always loved small seaside villages so the left part of my layout has one of those alongside a beck running inland from the sea.

The middle part of my layout is a sports club with cricket pitch, pavilion/seated stand, bowling green and tennis court plus outdoor swimming pool. Must be some money in this club!

Then over on the right is a museum area over 2 areas with various classic trains, the heritage line runs right through the middle of it.

At the top is the station and at the bottom is a busy siding.

As you might have guessed I love comedy, so look out for Mr Bean, Laurel and Hardy...and a few more will be added soon.

Aah! Laurel and Hardy, The Piano, 1932. Nice little hidden reference there. 8)
I look forward to spotting Mr Bean, a favourite with my grandchildren.

Hi YorkRail,

I just love that tightly built little village.
A place to have fun dreaming up little cameos and building
in some secret amusing elements.

But 'N' ...... I can't see it !! Unless covered by enlarged photos
