Modellers of a Republican persuasion will not be tempted.
This Signature Left Intentionally Blank, but since I have written this and I intended to do it, this Signature is intentionally not blank. Paradox or What?

I'd buy a 'Guy Fawkes' one ;-) Not really, I would buy the Rapido 'G. Fawkes, Westminster' gunpowder wagon if one turned up - https://rapidotrains.co.uk/product/g-fa ... n-no-1605/ Can I just take this opportunity to say 'Hi' to the boys and girls at GCHQ.

If you didn't need to be in the club to buy one, and it had been under £100 I'd have been tempted to get one to go next to the Capt. Tom Moore on the shelf.

I'll wait 'til it comes up on eBay, then ignore it. I've set my TV recorder so that I can watch the parades though! :D

I expect they'll end up in the shop at Margate at a knock down price, like the Steam Punk stuff has.

As one of a historian persuasion, I'm not particularly interested in it either. It's not even chintzy
, its just naff. If it were done tastefully in this coronations theme of blue and then had the coronation logo against a white circular backing it'd have maybe been on the verge of consistency with the rest of the coronation shenanigans. Coupled with the absurd price and members exclusivity, a non member would end up giving hornby twice the price of a normal railroad 66 and the only benefactor is hornby (not even like the prince's trust).

So forgive me for being a tad repulsed by this offering, but I'd take a wet weekend in Wales over ten of these purple bricks.

I wasn't expecting that. I thought perhaps a Thomas-the-tank-engine sort of thing with its eyes too close together and big rubber ears, and a crown instead of a funnel.

But I'm very impressed. Very impressed. How did they know that purple was my football team colours?

You see I should have been watching the coronation. It was a lousy cold wet day, and I didn't go to see the mighty Fremantle Dockers playing Hawthorn. Fremantle were on a losing streak, working their way to the bottom of the ladder again.

So I stayed at home, and nearly watched the coronation. Well some of it. When it got boring I switched over to check the football score, and bloody hell, not only were the Dockers winning, but winning by quite a lot. So much for the coronation. The Dockers won by 11 goals. Their finest victory ever. Even worth a commemorative railway engine. In purple. How did Hornby know? I mean they even got the correct shade of purple.

I'd buy one if I did electric stuff. I could always change the writing and the flag. But I'm a steam man.

How should anyone know?
How should I know?
Back in the day, the only colours in the metropolitan teams were Red and White (East Freo).

And, of course, black-and-blue!
Cheers, Chris
P.S. Good to see your local footie club sponsoring Eastern States matches! C

Despite being of the 'all engines should be blue' persuasion, that looks pretty cool - a lot better than most modern liveries!

Assuming it comes fitted with a 21-pin TXS decoder (£69.99 RRP) - that makes the loco £60.00. Not a bad price - but they have now sold-out.

Sold out on pre-orders. It couldn't have been a particularly large batch then!
