I have a ROCO point set which keeps derailing when running my smaller locos (particularly when running against the end of the point), my larger six wheel locos have no problem negotiating the points in any direction. My problem seems to be at the point of the curve where the end of the rail hits the open fork. I have inspected these points and forks in minute detail but I can't see what is wrong.
I'm obviously missing a trick a somewhere, but can't see where. Any help you can offer would be gratefully received.

Have you checked that the back to backs on both the larger loco's and smaller loco's are the same?
That would be my first port of call.

E2E's suggestion of checking the back-to-back measurement is a first step.
How old are your 0-4-0's ? Older locomotives often have wide tyres and flanges
that don't run through the check rail flangeway.

A good test is to run the troublesome loco(s) as slowly as possible through the point, and watch closely. If the loco rises as the wheels reach the crossing, or is slowed or even stopped there, that's usually the flanges jamming in the flangeways.

It would help if you tell us what both the good and the troublesome locos are, with their catalogue numbers.
