It’s looking good Geoff 8)
Once upon a time I built a model railway in the loft. Now I dabble on much smaller baseboards.

 Sounds like one of those TV 'reality' shows!

I do like the repair job on the Nissan hut. Painted masking tape... another idea to store away for the future.

Thanks Dave & Phred,

Probably the last work to do before July's exhibition is the screen, come back scene.
It hides my driving station and points desk with stud & probe working.

Propped in place, intending to get a Gaugemaster back scene in 'N' the '00' version is
far too deep for this 6" screen.

I used a N back scene on one of my 00 layouts, I thought it went well, adding to the illusion of depth, whereas the 00 one seemed to dominate it.

It is now under 2 weeks to the clubs Summer Exhibition.
Today I pasted the advertised as 'N' gauge back scene onto my 2 mm mounting board, it had
a small amount of spare length that needed trimming off each end. Then half a dozen small
screws with washers holding securely into the wooden blocks that support the scene edge
brick walling.

It has developed a slight curl forward as the glue has dried out. I may attach a couple of strips
behind where it might counteract by creating a reverse pull, but I can live with it if necessary.

The adjoining board has no back scene as I need to see everything to be able to work the Kadees,
it is after all a place to show off and move wagons around.

Although there is much more that could be developed you have to bear in mind this may only ever
have one public outing and regrettably little home use until I part with Castell Mawr layout.

Now probably back to playing with track work.

N gauge or otherwise...who can tell with a back scene? Anyway, it fits quite seamlessly, and gives a nice feeling of depth.

"Yesterday" All my troubles were there !!
Spent the day running, or in fact, more time spent talking at my Clubs Summer Exhibition.
When doing an exhibition single handed you don't have any spare time, but things went well
enough. I was located at a point where one of the lights was out so it was a little under
illuminated. I managed 4 photos after initial set-up.

There is so much minute detail that I should have been adding, but ran out of time and imagination.
The odd thing about this layout is that it was made for ME, and the best viewing is from the driving
desk as opposed to the publics viewing side. It may never get another public outing and was expected
to be my last layout for setting up permanently in my shed.

I must buy some rabbits, the hill looks empty without them !! (Again better seen from the drivers side !!)

A relatively simple layout for watching a shunting wagon trundle up and down, with a good variety of wagons. What’s not to like 👍

I must buy some rabbits
I'll ship you some, real ones, the little b****** are causing chaos down at the station. They seem to think that all the attention the gardens are getting is just for their benefit. Cameo coming up, half a dozen old codgers in purple hi-vis jackets, armed with spades trying to block up their holes faster than they can dig 'em.
Growing old, can't avoid it. Growing up, forget it!

Would anyone see them at 1/76 scale?
I just bought some cats from Modelu and ordered 1/72 scale in hopes that they would be a little bigger but they are still disappearingly small. :(

What is the point of a layout if you don't occasionally just play trains ?
Chalkhill was permanently fixed into my shed after giving my big layout
Castell Mawr away.

It has been very damp in my shed, no leaks or such just very humid after
all the wet weather we've had. My other locos have been unhappy, even
after some careful track cleaning.
So with Anna having been warm & dry for months I thought I'd take her
down for a run. Could hardly believe how she coped with the insulated
Set-track points.

Image

She struggles with more than 5-6 wagons as all this stock has brakes 'on'
to get pretty well 100% operational success from the Kadees. Here she
worked a slightly modifies Triang chlorine tank.

Looking for a 'Gower Princess' at the right price - meaning cheap, like Anna
cost me £70.

Lovely scenes, Geoff. Well done.

'Gower Princess' is coming in at around the £100 + mark. Cheapest I have seen (and in stock) Rails of Sheffield £89.95 (no affiliation). Off course there is the P&P on top.
