Class 52 lighting

I have a Dapol Western which is 1 year old and has had little use. I noticed tonight the directional lighting at one end is not working.
Before I investigate further has anyone else had this problem and does anyone have any ideas what the problem is?

Is there a switch on the underside, or a software setting for DCC that allows the end connected to the train to display no lights? It would seem logical that there should be.

I couldn't see a switch but the software setting is a good thought.
