Today the building beside the factory will get it's door & windows.
They still need a bit of weathering and I want the three pane window to look different, as bought second hand somewhere to replace a four pane broken one...

I also wanted to see the wooden window test painted so...

Of course I have found an error: I should have made the stirene angle piece a bit broather for this size so each pane could see as standing. Next time I'll take care of that. Anyway I can live with the rest of the result.

Early in the morning, walking through the always delicious darkness of my home to reach thge toilette, I noticed something in one of the lower shelves in the workroom that had long ago forgoten.
Here some images of what I saw...

It is a tiny 1/32 diorama I've made three dioramas ago. The front is 14cm, it is 18cm deep and 24cm tall. Not really a big thing. I have posted plenty about by then somewhere and, of course certainly to my Flickr. But because I never intended to give it any lights, todays surprise view under early morning light was really new to me too.

Now back to the current work

The little building with the fellow repairing the fram of his cycle has a big chance of emigrating but is still there...

I really like seeing that old section of diorama and the new angle views of the current one Daniel. Delightful!

Thank you, Ken.
It was a surprise also to myself. I never even considerd giving that tiny diorama any lighting but the first lights of the day did just in the right moment and the right angle.
The diorama has been in that place for a couple of years and never toticed that light effect before.

Nice to see some track down, and the weir/waterfall is superb - I can almost hear the water flowing over it.

Thank you, Ex-Pat, for your comment.
Yes, I am also happy with the development of the diorama.( And surprissed too.)

Yes, some track is needed and that may be an aspect of next diorama: an abandoned small loco and rolling stock maintenance & repairs yard already being reclaimed by Nature... So still no running trains but plenty of derelict track & rolling stock in both narrow and standard gauges...

Long ago, I bought in a saddly already gone model trains shop nearby my home these two thin lead strip rolls

ImageIMG_0060 (83) by Daniel Osvaldo Caso, on Flickr

It is a selfadhersive strip...

ImageIMG_0061 (75) by Daniel Osvaldo Caso, on Flickr

I had by then no idea why I bought them but just did. (something I love to do, makes Magoo's fantasy jump and terrifies Mr. Wallet).

Today I thought may be it is the day when I could prove 'I was right' (...) because must...

ImageIMG_0062 (76) by Daniel Osvaldo Caso, on Flickr

The material seems simply ideal also if I not sure the French ever used lead for covering such roof joints. So dar I had the idea they were all zinc or even iron plate but not certain I ever seen ik done with lead...

Still, in the spirit of 'organic architecture' (a bit extended by need to the modelling area) seems it could have been. After all it doesn't sounds or looks too strange...

ImageIMG_0063 (75) by Daniel Osvaldo Caso, on Flickr

ImageIMG_0063 (76) by Daniel Osvaldo Caso, on Flickr

I think I could live with such a tiny probably lie BUT: the bright surface of it is really destructive!

So I have two questions:

1)
Would it be technically pure nonsense to use lead?

... and

2)
Is there a good way to make the lead to oxidize without waitinmg a fdecade or two to get it happen?

I know lead won't get 'rusty' but somethging happens to it that after lonmg exposure becomes very matt and opaque.

Hmm... No, three questions:

3)
Would look better a stip of thin card painted as old zinc?

In defense of the use of the lead strips I must say it can be done better than in previous post...

I have now discovered the last images show traces of the French blue powder I used used for the slates under the layer of black paint so a new airbrushying may be needed for the full roof or at least here and there. Extending that job to airbrushing a layer of an a bit greyish matt varnish on the lead could help...

Your work would be amazing to see at an exhibition. I would be looking at it for ages! I recently saw someones layout and I had seen his lovely scenes before on a narrow gauge forum. Seeing it for real and there is too much detail to take in but one gets a sense of perspective. We had to tear ourselves away because we had to get back before dark as we have ducks to put in to prevent the foxes getting there first, but I could have stood there for ages.
