2 x Hornby R8218 14.1mm wheel sets needed

Post by End2end »

2 x Hornby R8218 14.1mm wheel sets needed for my Airfix autocoach to match the 2 wheels sets I already have.

Unfortunately the other Hornby 14.1mm R8234 wheelsets are not a match so it has to be the R8218 and I only need 2 sets so buying a whole pack is a waste of modelling funds.

If you do have 2 spare please let me know how much you'd like for them including postage.
Or, if you need them, we can do a straight swap for 2 x R8098 12.6mm 8 spoked wheels sets.
Thanks

Hi E2E,

Excuse my ignorance - it's coach stuff !!
I've had a look on-line and all are shown in packets so I can't see exactly What wheels
they are. I have some coach wheels here, No holes, and 2 Holes types.
I might be able to sort you some out.

Hi Dad-1 and thanks for looking. These are the Hornby R8218

14.1mm with no holes.
If you do have a pair let me know how much you'd like for them including postage or if you'd prefer to swap them for a pair of 12.6mm R8098 spoked wagon wheels.
Thanks

Hi, PM me your address I will put a couple in the post, don't want anything for them. I take it the 14.1 measurement is across the wheel tread? What is the difference between R8218 & R8234 just in case I have the wrong ones? Mine measure 14.13 across the treads and look identical to your picture.

The R8234 have 4 holes in them

And the R8264 have 2 holes in them

All R8218 (pictured in the first post), R8234 and R8264 (pictured above) are 14.1mm

Which ones do you have please whufcfan? I'd like them to match the two R8218 pair I already have as they will be on the same coach.
Thanks

Mine do not have any holes & look identical to your 1st photo in reply to Geoff (dad1) & as previously mentioned measured 14.13 across the tread, measured with a digital vernier.

Thanks very much whufcfan.
I'll document the autocoach upgrade here on the forum if any other members would like to do the same to theirs.

Hi whufcfan & E2E,

Sorry I'm a bit slow in sorting through things, in the meantime my old buddy whufcfan has sorted you
out, which is great.
Ahh remembering the weekly trips to MKMRS - was it THAT long ago !! Hope you're well.

What I'd found 'so far' is 4 x Gibson, or Romford fine scale plain disc coach wheels. I was certain there
were some Hornby ones somewhere. A lesson on being 'tidy' perhaps ?? Where might they be ????

Pleased you're sorted.
