Is there a collective noun for a group of Staniers? A pride? A plethora?

Very nice, I always wanted one of those in the weathered BR blue they did in the mid-00s

Interesting comments, guys.

Many years ago, way back to my first year at school (after nursery school), on the classroom wall was a big (I mean big) picture of a maroon engine and coaches. The name of the engine escapes me. Most definitely a LMS Coronation Class. That picture has remained in my memory ever since.

Having 'grown up in LNER territory' coal and mining has been an interest for me. The LMS has never been at the forefront of my mind, until I had the loan of a model of 'Duchess of Gloucester'.

The three locomotives, 'Duchess of Sutherland', 'Galatea' and 'Lady Patricia' are virtually brand new as they have never been run; just languishing in their boxes. I shall be fitting them into a timetable of 'Specials' on their way to Carlisle etc.

Thanks, BrightonMan. They are in such good condition I cannot believe why they have been left in their boxes and not run.

I did promise myself 'No more buying', but ---------. :)

The promise of no more engines went out the window.

A new Lady has arrived in town. LMS Royal Scot Class locomotive 6149 'Lady of the Lake'.

Hello, mireya. Welcome to the Forum.

Thanks for your comments.
Video making is not my thing. I prefer taking photographs. :)

What are your interests? Do you have a layout?

You know how it is? There we were travelling on the road at around 60mph. The railway line on our left. A steam engine appears. No time to set anything up. A quick photograph.

Okay! Okay! I was disturbed and my hands moved.

A Class 5 locomotive has been ordered. :D

Hi.

You know that the Class 5 is missing the handrail, at least on the pictured side?

These Class 5 locos were usually painted black, and got the name Black 5.

Hornby released this model in a version of LMS “maroon”....
