'I have lost control'

Post by glencairn »

Some days my grandsons' arrive and they 'run the show'. Today I have lost it. I lost control. My three year old 'train daft' younger granddaughter arrived.

Watching Class 55 55002 'Kings Own Yorkshire Light Infantry' travel at 150mph plus.

Ah you've got about five years to get the history and the science of railways, mugged up for when the questions start coming. How, why, what's that for, the lads aren't half so inquisitive. They'll be online and checking out your answers to see if you are kidding them. A few weeks back, I had to take them to see where the pipe came out of the canal bridge to fill the tanks on the branch line engine. They'd found a local photograph from the forties.

I think she has started already with the questions. :)

She loves to go to 'Locomotion' to see the real things. As for seeing the Flying Scotsman? I had to keep a tight hold of her as she wanted to rush up to it.

And is now seen (with me) at local model railway shows.
