An overall view of Sovereign Street Yard. On the right top to bottom, Town Tailors, Smith & Butler's Printers, Hey & Humphreys Bottlers of Ale, and Fairbairn lawson Metal Workers. On the left is T & J Harrison Small Arms Manufacturers, and Hudson Ward Flour Millers.

This section of the layout can be operated like 'Inglenook Sidings' for a different 'bit of fun'.

Those photos transport me from where I sit to a distant land. I can almost hear the sea gulls? The salt air? The fish? Lovely. :)

Do Hey and Humphreys have a tasting department, or is there a pub round the corner?

Halloween is fast approaching. The Happy Ghost of Sovereign Street has been seen.

Here first near Clarence Dock Goods Yard.

Then seen at his favourite 'haunt' Sovereign Street.

The ghost hasn't a name, but always appears a Halloween. He is over thirty years old now. :)

A Leeds LNWR Goods Yard to Dewsbury L & Y Goods Yard train passing through Leeds Sovereign Street Station. The wagon loads lift out to give the impression of full or empty wagons.

When originally built Crown Point Yard was Freight Yard. Only later did it become a diesel locomotive depot.
Here 'Allan Water' is on shunting duties.

Because of an illness and injury (Ihave had all my life) getting progressively worse, I have altered the layout at Clarence Dock Goods Yard to make it easier to operate. Gone is the bridge. No longer is there a 'circle of track'. The layout is now point to point.
With the bridge gone there is an extra spur at Clarence Dock Yard.

There is more space for loading and unloading of goods. The loading docks need bedding in and parts painted
IMG_2480.JPG
The coal yard is now larger. I have to find a coal delivery vehicle.
IMG_2481.JPG
The actual dock area remains the same. Here is an early morning scene.
