Peco 3-way Point

Hello

Not been here for a while so here I am with a new issue.

Part of my layout requires 3 parallel tracks after a 3-way point (Peco SL-E99). I need to use standard straight track for the middle track. My problem is that I am not sure what small curves to use for the left and right tracks so I can make all three parallel. Any ideas?

To overcome the track pieces limitation in the software for my layout, I replaced all the straights with flexitrack pieces.
So say, 3 straight pieces replaced by ONE flexitrack peice in the software reduces the number of track peices to 1 from 3 thus giving you more to work with.

If that's Streamline rather than Setrack it won't fit the standard Setrack curves. Use flexi instead, you can get a gauge to keep the spacing correct and a straightedge helps you lay it straight.

Don't forget that the Peco SL-E99 Electrofrog 3 way point has to have some form of frog polarity switching fitted to both its frogs.
The Insulated frog version SL-99 doesn't need this.

The 3 way point is 610mm radius and a 12 degree angle so you need a curve of those dimensions to straighten out - as above flexible track is the simplest solution - if you really need to use setrack I would suggest a 4th radius curve cut to the degree angle and a short straight (Hornby R610 or Peco ST203).

Hi there,

I used a streamline medium (I think) point attached to either diverging route to give me the template for the curve back to parallel running . I marked the route on to the baseboard and then laid it with flexitrack.

It has worked away fine for me. I will be doing it again shortly and can do a mockup for you to make more sense if that would be helpful?
