One of my turns coming on...

Post by Chops »

As mentioned, the point-to-point is a very rare bird in the US. Seeing all these great point-to-points started to intrigue me so much, I'd like to have a go of it. I have a lot of cheap second hand track, and a bunch of idle American shunting locomotives lying about, and then just last night I came into possession of a free 2x6 baseboard with sturdy legs...

...and?

6ft is long enough for a classic inglenook shunter arrangement, using American boxcar lengths, designs using a set-back fiddle yard, or odder things, many of which can be found on Carl Arendt's wonderful site for small to near-microscopic layouts.

Hi Chops
It sounds to me that the time has come, this is a sign that you can't resist.

Day after day
Love turns gray
Like the skin on a dying man
Night after night
We pretend it's all right
But I have grown older
And you have grown colder
And nothing is very much fun, anymore (except model railways)
And I can feel
One of all my turns coming on!!!!

:D :D :D :D :D
This Signature Left Intentionally Blank, but since I have written this and I intended to do it, this Signature is intentionally not blank. Paradox or What?

I can't remember Roger Waters crying out in agony over his model railway. But of course it is possible. Mine has made me want to from time to time.
But I do remember a rake of Cattle wagons full of school kids in the film. I heard at the time that the production company had a whole bunch of problems sourcing enough of them.
A whole load of bricks though.

The headteacher who let some of her pupils join in some "singing practice", offered by the studio went on to become our "Director of Education", but she never lived down the lyrics of The Wall.

My first switching layout (Inglenook type) worked very well with 40' freight cars. Dimensions: 10 "x 55"
