Bridport Club Open Day 27th May

Post by Dad-1 »

I have left it rather late, but we are having a club open Day on Sunday.
Entry is free, we will have light refreshments available at a small charge.

The location is Askerswell Village Hall which is located north off the A35
Dorchester to Bridport road, about 3 miles out from Bridport. DT2 9EW.

There will be 5 club layouts and a large test track. I shall be supervising
visiting drivers on our HS2 shunting layout.

If you're not too far away and fancy a day out. We're open from 11.00 Hrs
to 15.00 Hrs.

It's a good job you aren't going Dave, that route sends you the wrong way round Brum, straight into the M5 roadworks!

Good to hear from you Dave,

Looking at that list of 'improvements' the M.D has demanded I'm
not surprised that we've not heard much recently.
As Bufferstop says those route timings are rather optimistic, even
if you tried to come I'd expect at least another hour on what those
route plans suggest !!

Ahh shopping for Sunday - I'm getting 50 jam donuts, my quandary
is do I split 50/50 raspberry & strawberry and then what about apple ?
People are getting SO difficult, decaffeinated tea ? Coffee ? then not
just sugar as a sweetener, then gluten-free biscuits. What is the modern
word coming to ?????

We oldies were almost brought up on bread & dripping, drinks ? Water !!
That's why we're tougher mentally and not so fat as too many younger
people are. Oh dear the thought police will be on me for bullying, abusive
comments, mmmm must have missed the sexist bit out ?

Yesterday Derek brought 2 stiffened uprights made from
furniture grade English Oak.
I really didn't think we'd get it done by Sunday, but worked
outdoors after tea yesterday, went and bought the timber
for the two cross-bars this morning and here we are.
Full 'Dress' for tomorrow now !!
O.K the elastic straps don't match and need replacing, but
this will do for tomorrow.

I’d really love to Geoff but I’m in Toledo I’m afraid - so no contest!!

Turkey ? Aren't they for Christmas ?

I'm hoping to have a good day . We managed to get Red-Top milk uses to accept Green-Top.
Me, I'm having Blue-Top, laying off the Gold-Top !!
