The 2018 Competition - Voting is open (ends on the 8th!!)

Post by Alex3410 »

Hi guys,

There was some interest expressed in having another competition, so i am posting this thread to get the ball rolling. To make it worthwhile i think we need at least 8 members taking part (everyone is welcome and the more the merrier) if we don't reach that by the end of April it will be cancelled.

If you want to take part please post here or PM me, i will keep a tally of members taking part at the start of the thread so its nice and clear - if your not on the list and i have missed you please do PM me (i don't want to miss anyone so would rather you nudge me).

Theme
Its another open to everything, so if you have a project your working on your more then welcome to take part! - its open to everyone!

Time Line
[*]All entries in by the end of April
[*]Compitition Start Date: 1st May
[*]Compitition End Date: 30th June

This gives you April to sign up and gather resources and then two full months to progress.

The Rules
1)Users must post an introduction post showing where they are starting from
2)Users must post a final post at the end (even if its unfinished as its still interesting to see)
3)Users can enter at any point up until the closing date (no extra time given)
4)At the end of the month, entrants will post a final post in their threads and PM me to let me know they are done, I will then post here with a list of entries for people to vote on (via PM) before a winner is chosen.

and finally
5)Its just a bit of fun so please remember this

Note: this is run by forum members as a bit of fun and there is no prize

if your not sure whats going on take a look at previous competitions here

Count me in, although I have no clue what to build! I already have several projects on the go, none of which are at the very early stage, so I guess I will have to start a fresh one!

If you have an on the go project you can enter it you just need to define the starting point for the competition - for example, a post with photos how it looks and the start

people can then judge you on the progress made during the competition

I am also deciding to enter for some fun. Not sure what I can enter as yet though. I will find a something or other to enter! :D This time I can do some photos as I couldn't seem to get them to work before. :)
I'm thinking. It would be lovely to see many people giving this little competition a go, especially new members and those, like me, who have not entered. It will be fun!

I can do it now. It was last year I couldn't get them to work. :)
I had been trying to think of ideas. I have one now. :) it is quite an interesting one if I can get it to work. I will let you know when I start a thread. I understand I need to wait until the start of next month? I need to test the possibilities just in case the project can't be done as it is easy to have ideas which are not possible from the start. If it can't be done, then I have another plan as a back up. :)

I'll be in, probably a set of LMS 6-wheel coaches. Probably!

I have had an idea, a very ambitious one, so ambitious that I need to do a lot of prep work, investigation and purchases from China, so book me in for the 2019 competition, I might be ready by then! In the meantime, still pondering something I can do, that is not already started, not too ambitious and doable in the timescale. :?

Its fairly flexible, the important thing is to post your starting point and ending points.

This way users can enter ongoing projects, but at the same time, their progress will be fairly judged.

If your starting a new project for the competition it makes sense to start it when the competition starts, it also gives you the rest of April to gather any resources you might need.

MMMmmmm Perhaps I've jumped the gun !!

However Just started this week is "Country Living" a small diorama,
perhaps it's been started too early for your start date.
Picture on my workbench .... with greenhouse made a couple of
weeks ago.
I shall not be offended if you decline, but this is all I could offer within
the time scale.

I dont think I'll win as I have some serious competition! (Well done guys and gals... Its going to be fun!) Is there a specific location where we can post in the forum to make it easier to group the threads together? It will be easier then to find each others projects. I think now is the time for gathering parts for those who need to buy in materials?
