The 2017 Forum Competition

Post by Alex3410 »

Hi guys,

Back by popular demand  we are going to have another forum competition, its been a little while so i will outline the rules again:
The rules:
1)Users must post an introduction post showing where they are starting from
2)Users must post a final post at the end (even if its unfinished as its still interesting to see)
3)Users can enter at any point up until the closing date (no extra time given)
4)At the end of the month entrants will post a final post in their threads and PM me to let me know they are done, I will then post here with a list of entries for people to vote on (via PM) before a winner is chosen.

and finally
5)Its just a bit of fun so please remember this

Note: this is run by forum members as a bit of fun and there is no prize
This time around it will run from now until midnight on the 28th of February 2017.

Its open to everyone so please do take part if you want to, there is also no set subject / topic so anything will do (e.g. kits, detailing, layout work, track work, weathering, repaints - basically anything you can think of!).

if your interested you can see the past competitions here for some inspiration!

Final point, i am rather busy at the moment (Christmas, work, layout in bits) so please do make sure you PM me / post here to make sure i see your thread, i will keep an index up to date but don't rely on me finding your thread! if your not in the index let me know! Also please post a link to your thread / starting post.

I think thats about it, i will make note of any updates - in the meantime Good Luck! and happy modelling!

Updates:
1) I have changed title of post to 2017

Alex, you must feel very lonely at the moment. You can count me in for the competition. I'll launch a thread after Christmas once I formally get my entry from Santa. In the meantime, for information purposes, I'll be taking on a Springside Models kit build.

Eureka! I know what I want to do.

Bridging The Gap.

Building a temporary bridge from one board to another to form a continuous run to give my locomotives 'a run'. The bridge has to be able to take down when 'serious' running is in progress.

Work to start in January. :)

some interesting projects :) looking forward to seeing how you get on.

@TimberSurf - essentially you chose a project, post updates on it throughout the competition and then at the end post a summing up / final post. Members will then vote on which project interested / impressed them the most. projects dont need to be completed and can be something already underway but by posting a starting point and ending point we get an idea on the progress made during the competition time.

The point of it was to encourage more posts and to encourage members to get on with that project thats been on the 'todo' list for months
