SP Models Snetterton

Post by georgehgv »

Called in here one day when passing, huge place quite a lot of railway stock too, all locked in glass cases with sign saying ask staff if you want anything, trouble was no staff in sight, place te size of six hangars, no-one to assist. How do they sell things?
Enjoying the ride playing trains like never before. Building a model railway but not too specialised.

I visited there a few weeks ago, whilst having a weekend at the nearby CenterParcs in Elvedon. Exactly the same experience. I had money in my pocket itching to get out (other half's invitation to buy myself a Christmas present) and left empty-handed.

I'd been before, a couple of years ago, and they seemed then to have more stock and to be a bit busier. They seem now to be going through the motions (or not, in the case of the non-working display layouts).

I live 8 miles from this place and there only seems to be one person floating around whenever I visit. Also I had an issue 1 a year ago with a faulty air brush which they flatly refused to replace even though it was still under warranty. They also sold me a box of semi flexible track. On opening it at home I discovered that some of the track was second hand and broken. Not good.

Used to drive past there everyday. And that's what I did - drive past! So much potential there in a massive unit. Could be a cracking shop. As above, lack of staff on the shop floor didn't help. Shame. Mid & west Norfolk is in need of a decent model shop!

Visited here today out of morbid curiosity!

The following words are obviously not used in this place:

Customer Service, Value, Sale, Special Offers, Light, Heat, Friendly Staff, Welcome, Thank You.

Thankfully it is beside the A11 and you can join it very quickly from here!!!
