de ja vu photo recreation Competition

It's that time again folks, get your modeling shoes on and create that competition entry.

Following a poll, we are looking for entrants to re-create a photo, or perhaps a well known painting in a diorama form. This can be railway scenery, loco's, wagons etc, their is a bit of scope for everyone, for those fancying some rolling stock work, that would be part of a photo, and be presented as such/We would like to see the Photo of course, and your model as submitted. I think we should also see "in progress" shots so we know it;s being done now, and not recovered from your loft from 3 years back.

Rules
1 - your entry must be an attemt to re-create a photo or painting of a railway setting (or part of one, including loco and stock scrathcbuilds/modifications)
2 - we must be able to see the Photo or painting to compare (so if you use a photo you took, thats great, but we need to see it!)
3 - I will allow Photoshop editing for purposes such as a background, making black and white etc, as long as we also see your entry without these (because some people can't use, or don't have photoshop)
4 - Closing date - Christmas day, 2012. opening date, NOW
5 - Size - to help minimise costs for those on a tighter budget, the maximum size of board, shall be 2*2 foot for dublo or HO, 1*1 for N, and anyone modeling in an alternative scale, it should be easy to work out
6 - other than the size constraint, their are no other budgetary restrictions.
7 - winers will be announced in early 2013, after everyone has recovered from Turkey poisoning.
8 - Prizes. I am going to donate to a prize fund, others can "if they wish" I'm thinking of a paypal gift voucher, or store voucher for someone to buy something they want for their layout, so "if " we raised a kitty of 50 notes, and the winner really wanted an n gauge weathered blue class 14, they could probably get one..
9 - sadly no, I can't ban Lofty and his dioramas of awesome.

I think progress posts should be placed in the layout thread, and pop a link in the competiton thread (where a mod "should" move this post soon) Done

I will be entering as well. Like Terrier I will be basing mine on a painting but I cant find it on the internet and I cant remember where I put my version so watch this space

Can I clarify,

A) We can use RTR

B) Are we looking for an exact representation of said photo or can it be a likeness ?

yes you can use rtr, and we are looking for as close as you can get to the photo, but if your loco was the wrong number, or the wrong shade of griminess, i think you would be ok ;-O)
to be fair, you could submit what you want, no one is stopping you

My only worry is size: Instead of 2x2 can i do 4x1? same size just long and thin?

Most of my photos are cr4p & out of focus so this should be a doddle! Make something rubbish then shake it gently!

Yeah, I meant to say that, as long as the square footage is the same, ya can change the board how you want, gives some flexibility.
