The turntable at Old Oak Common was in use up to 2008. http://www.swanagerailway.co.uk/news712.htm Don't know if there are any others left. HSTs used to be turned on turntables. There are plenty in use on preserved lines today.

Quite a few heritage lines/Museums have one, however several don't get used too often. Sometimes only used during gala events or for mainline locomotives.

Keighley & Worth Valley Railway - Keighley
Nene Valley Railway - Wansford
Severn Valley Railway - Kidderminster
Swanage Railway - Swanage
West Somerset Railway - Minehead
Great Central Railway - Quorn (very recently completed)
Paington & Dartmouth Steam Railway - Churston
North Yorkshire Moors Railway - Pickering
Peak Rail - Rowsley South
Strathspey Railway - Aviemore
Yeovil Railway Centre
Didcot
NRM
Barrow Hill
Tyseley

Probably missed out a few though...

Perth yard still had an operation turntable in the 1980s used fairly frequently to turn the locomotives off steam specials and also track machines.
Neville Hill still has an operational turntable for the very reason you state - to turn HST power cars

I know Marylebone had a turntable that was still being used in the mid to late 1980's, as mentioned before Old Oak Common still had one in use at that time,
appart from the one at preserved heritage lines, not sure if any are left

Hope this Helps

Cheers

Hi all

If you search youtube for 'Peak rail turntable' you will see one in operation. I got this link from another member in another post but can't find it at the moment to acknowledge it.
