So this will be No.27 which has had it's restoration restarted after a wait of 30 years. Once She's done the Fenchurch Trust plan to move onto Fenchurch, who is going to be 140years old this Saturday (7th sept)!
The observation carriage looks good, though I will agree not quite prototypical*; Your model looks in good condition, Also I have to agree on the people front, It needs children and people with cameras standing at one end .
*Though you can run a mixed rank of LBSCR, SECR and LNWR carriages behind a SR liveried E4 and have it be perfectly realistic.

Wonderful work on those wheels and I have always loved the SE&CR livery!

Re: BMR Workbench - Baxter, B4, USA, O2, LNWR observation Ca
Immaculate work as usual Matt.
Looking back through the series you can see improvement not only in the modelling but the presentation of the posts too, the latest being a good example.
I like that kit, it contains a lot of detailing parts for the money, albeit they're only white metal. The resin bodies under the eye of the camera are much like 3d printed ones, only a much smoother surface. I guess 3d will improve in time though.
It's interesting to hear that you are adding some of the detail after painting, I'm never sure which order to proceed in [still groping my way] and your decision to use brass buffers instead of the white metal ones was a sound one, they look so much more crisp than the originals
once again, well done mate! I'll be following with interest
regards Roly

Thank you Sleeper, I enjoy these sort of comments as theres something to actually read.
Indeed its nice, I occasional read back through this thread and the layout thread... its nice to see how my standards have changed... and painting and finishing of locos has improved, As I have gone back to older models and refinished them... the O2 and North London Tank are a good example of this.
To this kit as you say its comes with most of the important detailing parts, unlike other Resin Manufacturers like Golden Arrow for example.. who leave you to aquire what the individual wants... which is an ok idea... all be a set of cast standard parts for a kit would be nice... and if you wish to change them you can.
Ive looked at 3d printing... its good for rapid prototyping... but not quite ready for modelling yet its getting there but not there yet... plus the price of the printers are a bit step for one man bands... but its something to keep an eye on in the future. The white metal parts at least give a resin body some weight.... or it would be amazingly light and not able to pull much at all.
Yes I mean for years... ive banged on all the detailing... all be results were ok finish wise... i felt i would put on the important loco castings (chimney, dome, safety valves, lamp irons, smokebox handle) and wait untill finishing and transfers are done before adding the reverser, clack valves, and other pipe work as they do get in the way when lining the boiler or adding some of the SECR transfers, but its different for me thought I would try it.
The Brass buffers done by markits... it was a decision, based on detail again.. as they were spring... nicer to look at, better finish with paint... and as i say detail so they are sprung. The Casting ones on the other 2 kits I have... are ok... but not the same as the Bluebells locos which I think have all stepped SR buffers... plus the white metal buffer head is fragile if its hit... and difficault to repair.
The finish is better on this one... I feel the cab detail is also an improvement... hopefully I can carry through the detail to the end... we shall see... as I have a new and different project... which is slightly bigger than the normal loco conversions....
