i was just looking at the coloured houses, do you reckon they would suit a seafront layout, i'm thinking of doing minehead inspired layout, still in planning stages, and those look perfect :D :D

Mine's 4x8. It's not terribly sophisticated because I'm not a DIY person. Its really a flat plan, originally based on the hornby track plans, but now my own plan with a village in the centre using Mike's buildings. I like Metcalfe as well. As I say I would be embarrassed to show it to another railway modeller, but a couple of weeks a go a friend brought his 5 year old grandson to see it. The little lad loved playing for a couple of hours and the grandfather kept saying (and he meant it) 'I haven't seen a layout like this since I was a boy. It's so good, all those buildings, the people the vehicles.' I think he was quite envious. I know when they are a bit older my own grandchildren will love it. Thanks largely to Mike!

Mike,
Located your site via a reference to it on another forum (yourmodelrailway.net) and was pleased to find something that can fill in the gaps on my new layout. I have used Scalescenes in the past and will continue to do so but your site will enable me to 'fill in the gaps' created as a result of a rebuild. Many thanks for your hard work to make our work easy. Left a donation via PayPal to help you buy some more sheets of card and cutters etc.

Cheers - Wayne

I've had some photo's sent by other modellers who have used the coloured house kits to great effect on their layouts.

Hi Wayne, nice to know you've found these kits of some use, please pass this link round as I'm sure other modellers would like some of these freebees...... :D

I'm still putting together the next generation kits at present, I'm nearly there regards the content, I think each PDF will have the kits as a fully ready to go option as normal (Print, cut, score, fold, glue, place on layout) but for those who feel they would like to try something different I'll then include the same kit but this time marked with all the window & door openings ready for cutting out , next choose the doors & windows of your own choice from the selection provided & glue them on the inside of the openings, this just gives the kit some depth.

Each kit will come with a full range of doors & windows with either curtains or blinds, I'll also add a sheet of brick paper in each kit so if you want walls the same as the house.... No problem.......Just thought I will need to add some gates.....Damn that's something else on my to do list......

So that's where I am at present, hope I'm on the right track as they say regards these kits, just keep a watching eye on this thread for the release annoucement.

Finally tell all you friends about the Wordsworth phenomenon......

Cheers,
Mike.

Hi Troop,

Also nice to hear people are making good use of this resource.

I've been pondering with yet another house variation this time in the form of a very small semi detached house, so I would like to introduce "Ginger".

I have no idea if I can find space for her on my layout but I saw a house with this type of roof when on my travels & thought a kit with a samilar style roof was in order.

I really need to get all these new kits ready for uploading, hope to have this done wthin the next week.

Catch you all later,
Mike.

Hi Troop,

Well it's taken a while but I have finally uploaded the four new kits, Blossom, Kimberley, Thumbellina & Ginger. All four follow the normal building process but added as a new feature for those that want to take the next step is a version where you cut out the door opennings & windows, then from a nice selection provided glue on the inside if the opennings adding a deeper look to the kit.

Also included is a sheet of A4 plain brick paper for any alterations you may fancy doing, then if you want walls & gates for the new building I've added a quick build method.

To date I hope you find these new versions more useful & a great addition to the Wordsworth Range.

So all I now have to say is download & enjoy. :D

Hi Troop,

I've just finished another proto type build of yes wait for it...... A concrete style line side building. I just want to add maybe some other bits & I'll get this one ready for up loading.

I hope some one will find a nice little space for it on their layout.

I'm also on with a requested kit which I want to keep a secret just in case I can't pull this one off, I'm sure many will find a use for this next project. As a little clue it's modular so it can be built to any size required.

So until then lets have a little look at this nice simple concrete style line side hut.

So until my next little update, happy modelling.

Hi Troop,

I must apologise for not getting the concrete style hut uploaded, just not had any time to sort the web site out. But before everyone thinks I've given up I just what to give you a general idea of stuff I'm working on.

The first kit I want to introduce is the Wordsworth Roundhouse, I believe this may be the first card style kit available. It's been designed in modules so it can be built as one bay or ten bays. This kit has reached the proto type build stage.

The next kit is the Wordworth Girder style bridge with an archway either side for people / traffic. This kit is half way through the design stage so it's still only software generated.

Also still in the design phase is a coaling ramp style building with a water tank on it's roof.

I've been asked if the containers could be uploaded that were built for the Wordsworth layout, therefore in my next web update I'll do a version of these, without the LNER & Worthsworth logo, I'm sure I can think of something to put in their place.

Below is the general design sketch of the bridge.

Image

I will try and get the web site updated soon, I will also let you know how the Roundhouse proto type build goes by including some pictures.

Until then keep happy.
Mike.

Seriously, that bridge looks absolutely superb. Can't wait for it to be finished.
