authentic castle ruins.

Does anybody have any tips and ideas on how to make castle ruins in N gauge scale. ie walls towers dimensions etc??
i know you can buy kits as a last resort.

Use Corfe Castle as your inspiration - it's the architypal ruined castle on a hill. Just model what you see;
