More Steam Locomotive Reviews

Post by Rail_Fan 15 »

I looked at the main site recently and noticed that there are few steam locomotive reviews, which is sad because steam locomotives are the best. I would submit a few reviews but most of my steam locomotives are out of date, but i might make one later today.

Ive looked around the forum and noticed there are quite a few modellers modeling withen the steam era and thought that maybe you could post a few little reviews in this section (dont be shy!). Even if its just a list saying the good and bad things. Then they can get added to the main and yay, more steam locomotive reviews.

Just a thought...

Hi

You got a good point there Railfan. When I first started with trains I purchased loco's that I liked and that had reviews.

But what do people want?

I have done about 6-7 indirect reviews on steam loco's. Do people want it laid out in a certain format good points bad points fitting off of options, videos etc.

Yes I think it is a great idea.

We're hoping to get more steam loco reviews on the site now. So please do feel free to post steam reviews and they will be up ASAP.

I can write a review of the Bachmann Ivatt 2 and (soon) Ivatt 4 if they'll be of help...?

I'll do the T9, N15 and the new Schools when it comes out. I have a couple of weeks off from next week, so I'll get cracking with photos etc.

I think I might've done the N15 review already.

I can do the Bachmann N class, and Hall if you like... I should be able to get them done by the end of the month.

Mighty! I had written up the N15 review a while ago but I don't think I posted it. If you'd like I'll put it up, unless you've done yours already, this way you can do the T9 faster and schools if you have one already

Let me know :D

I'll be going home in about a week and a half so I'll be doing the Hall and N class then. I have the basics but I'd like to test both of the locos again.

Hi Redline - I'd taken the photos, but not written the review! I'll let you do the N15 - there are plenty of other locos that I can review. Listing in order - T9, Schools (when the wretched thing arrives  ) Terrier and M7.

Hornby:
Tri-ang Lord of the Isles 4-2-2
Hornby GWR 0-6-0 Pannier
Hornby Rebuilt MN 4-6-2
Hornby NRM Flying Scotsman 4-6-2 (also can apply to the rest of the A3 Class)
Hornby 14xx 0-4-2

Hornby:
Hornby N15 4-6-0

You could do the Modified Hall but I feel like it is the same as the normal Hall with a different body, though it does have a split chassis so it may be worth doing a separate review for. The prairie is already done, and the 3F might have been too... But it'd be great to have other peoples views on the same model! :D
