how to make signs

Post by class56 »

1. Go to www.newrailwaymodellers.co.uk/resources.htm and then download the signs.
2. Print them off.
3. Cut the one you want out.
4. Use old railway track line cut it to length with pliers.
5. Make a hole in the board.
6. Then use PVA glue to stick the sign you cut out on to the rail (use the flat side of the rail
7. Then it should look like this.( The sign says stop)

good plan
phones are for talking to people
cameras take photos!
use the right kit for the job and you'll be better off. don;t take that as anything other than a bit of a pointer in the right direction :D

To be fair, it's difficult to get a decent picture if you dont have access to a decent camera! Digi cameras are not cheap still if you want a half decent one (which you need if your doing close- ups), and for some of us (me included) thats valuable hobby money!

Are your signs on Card or paper?
I think what would make them better is printing them on Photo paper, it will give them a glossy shine and add stability.

Would a rail be too thick... i.e. to scale would it not be like every sign being held up with a 8 inch wide girder!

If I were you (and it's a lot easier) I'd use the cheap wooden BBQ Kebab skewers, as you can cut them with scissors, spray them white (or grey), and bob's your uncle. :)
