Yep, another great one Jim. I must get mine running soon, but this b###y model boat in my Christmas stocking is taking up all my spare time at the moment!

Great photo's, Jim. Can I ask what you used for the point rodding - is it the Wills kit?

Thanks BrightonMan, yes they are the Wills Kits. Fiddly, but well worth it.

Just a short update on Millsend.

I sent a recent purchase away for weathering to Grimy Times and have
just received it back, very pleased with the look they have achieved.

A few shots of the 'Stove' in the parcel sidings.

Thanks Geoff T and TimberSurf.

Not much happening modelling wise on Millsend, enjoying some running sessions now.

Whilst trawling the internet I found this oddity, an LNER 4 wheel LWB Pigeon Brake Van. After
reading up on their history, it seems a few survived through the sixties and 1 example lasted
until 1971. As well as used for pigeon transport they were also used as parcel stock, just what I
needed to know as I am always on the lookout for unusual parcel stock and as Millsend is set in Lancashire
it seemed just the job.

I found that Slimrails did a plastic kit at a very reasonable price. A few pics of the kit up to its first
coat of paint, Railmatch maroon, looks a bit wishy washy but after its next coat should look ok. I added
vac pipes which don't come with the kit, but the kit otherwise is excellent.

More pics to follow after another coat of paint, glazing and numbers added.

Oh I do like 'different' wagon and van styles.
Nothing more bland that top link passenger train,
mixed up vans on a parcels train much more interesting
as are loads of different wagons on a long distance freight.
The saving grace for block coal trains is when every one is
weathered slightly differently.

Keep 'em coming Jim ..........

Thanks Geoff.

A couple more pics of the Pigeon brake van after it's last coat of Railmatch
BR maroon paint. A coat of matt varnish needed now to complete and couplings to fit.
