Re: 00 scale lorries
Hi Jim,
Thats a fantastic conversion you've done there, very inspirational , thanks for sharing.
I've been looking for a supplier of those orange beacons, preferably the opaque plastic type, I did source some sometime ago from a corgi/dinky/lesney re-production spare parts trader at an NEC toy & train fair, but I mislayed his contact details/price list during our house move, but I think his name was Flowers or something like that.
Do you know of a similar supplier of these transparent orange beacons ?
Thanks,
Dave.

Re: 00 scale lorries
Are there any recomended sites for lorry . car , etc pics (the real thing, not models) from the sixties , preferably a few in colour- seems you have inspired me to a bit of DIY.
Re: 00 scale lorries
There's a gallery of pre 70's GPO on the site I linked to. Also if you put 1960's vehicles into flickr there's some stuff.

Hi All
Some in progress road vehicles for you.
Starting with
A couple of Mk3 transits from the MBC kits. Both of these were aquired pre built but needed the details painting up. I really like these kits but as this type of transit would be brand new on the layout what I really need is the Mk2 type.
I really must stop bashing the Corgi ford cargo into other things as they are taking over the layout! I have one more on the go and thats it I think! This one has been in the shop for a very long time but its nearly there now.
Cheers

Re: 00 scale lorries
as memory serves me Jim they were "everywhere" as I recall, my local UNIGATE dairy had a whole fleet of them so did the post office and almost every carrier I ever used (including securicor), we also had two at the engineering shop I worked for, and they were as ubiquitous as the mk2 tranny van (we had 4 of them also and viva H.A's and even the last of the angle-bangers, (ford anglia van)), and that was 1982-ish.
Re: 00 scale lorries
this is another inspiring thread!

Hi All
I went to expo EM yesterday and picked up this...
...from the ABS stand. There are quite a few differences between the Mk1 and Mk2 types and not all focused around the front but then the ABS front is a nice 1 piece casting. I wonder if I can persuade them to sell it on its own?
Its a nice kit and goes together really well (I soldered this one but you could super glue it) The only real downside is (IMHO) its way too expensive!
Cheers

Hi All
A few more things on the bench, first up...
This one isnt ever going to win any beauty contests but given my thoughts when I first opened the packet I am quite pleased with how its turning out.
The mk2 bread van, painted and weathered and finally...
Anyone remember Associated Deliveries Limited?
Cheers
