Brewery

Post by Shakey »

The next thing on the list is the brewery

I have sited it inbetween the wagon sidings and the coach sidings
A road will then take "road traffic" away through the sidings and across the main line to a background road

Here ids the progress so far
Image

Here I am painting the track bed of the wagon sidings in front of the brewery ready to have the track pinned down and ballasted

Image

The coach sidings are ballasted at the rear of the brewery but some sort of garden is needed or a small executive car park will flip a coin later- Who said a layout needs plans!!?

the coach sidings look great, the walkway in between the tracks looks particulary real. 8)

This is the front view with the baseboard painted ready for the wagon sidings track to be pinned down, ballasted and the surrounding land grassed. I don't know about the tarmac area though. Has anyone any experience with ready made tarmac "mats"

Years ago on a layout i used black emery paper for the 1 road i had, that might be worth considering.

I've just done the same thing for my bus and haulage depot - 240 grain black glass paper.
I rubbed 2 pieces of it together to 'weather' it - works pretty well I think.

i seen the sticky back foam/sponge being used for the surface and then when it is painted just push it down to make the cracks and just take out a lump and fill the hole with sand and glue to make potholes
