St.Oval - A scenic Set Track Oval

I've been stalking for the last few years and now I have exposed myself!
I would like to make up some great story about how I have been working on world peace for the last 5 years, but it's more to do with a mental brake down and starting to get back to my old self (with slight changes)
Just so you know Geoff your topic was the first for my reappearance/exposure.

Hi Dave,

Ahhh, been away until today (Mon) came back home as the
rains started down here on the south coast.
Perhaps though I should have put this link in, which was

St Oval gets a lot more freight than passenger services. Soon
to test the last 3 Dapol 16 ton mineral wagon kits. One still
needing it's couplings fitted, a job for this evening.

I have two memories connected to them, my maternal great grandfather's photograph of him standing proudly in front of one in his drivers uniform overalls, just issued to him in 1924, both he and the tanks by then working for the LMS I'd have loved to find that photo again, but where it went is a mystery.
The other was my Gran's next door neighbour, a wiry little Glaswegian, who brought home the dome cover from one being taken for scrap, I must have been just over 5 so that makes it around '49/'50. The dome was a feature in his back garden for at least the next ten years. What did he use it for,- to force his rhubarb of course

My Threads have been decimated by the Photobucket fiasco and I'm still coming to terms
with another image hosting set-up. Sorry to bore with pictures that almost certainly were
in the original thread, but now well out of context.

Here we have St.Oval station with what was the new platform lights.



Slightly larger images than I'd like, I used to do 800 wide, but these are bigger and as yet I
don't know how to re-size.

Many thanks to you Dave & Lysander,

It's something of grind finding such old files that are scattered over several
external drives and two computers. Your support makes me all the more
determined to press on.
In fact only pages 11 - 14 need rebuilding now. Plus loading 3 videos into
Youtube to replace those left on PB.

There are so many links to replace .... On my signature layout of Thomas
at Silver Fox Island 17 pictures on the first page !!

Hello Dad-1,

As part of my resurgent interest in real Railway Modelling instead of dreaming about it, I looked at your layout on Youtube. It's incredible what can be acheived in such a small space. I found St Oval by searching for the minimum radius for a Hornby 42xx and was pleased that you managed an R1. I managed to get a Bachmann 56xx on a hidden 12 inch Radius curve on my old layout with no issues. I haven't tested my 42xx yet but I will need it to acheive Radius 1 also. I may be in touch for advice!
