Here are the photos as requested.
Photo 1 shows the set up after power on
Photo 2 shows the request to enter loco number
Photo 3 shows the number entered
Photo 4 shows the display after pressing ENTER.
OK I tried to attach 4 .jpg's but nothing shows. How do I do that

When editing click on "attachments" at the bottom, load the files in with the file browser. You can have a max of 5 per post and you'll needSquiddlyDiddly wrote:

re-size them to 800 x 600 or so, the overall file size is restricted but it also checks the pixel size. If you don't spcifically add then to the post, e.g. with "Place in Line", then they appear at the end automagically. The size thing is a bit confusing.

Yes I tried that but the controller responded with "Cannot read CV"

Yes I tried that but the controller responded with "Cannot read CV"
I must admit I don't find this forum easy to use. I want to reply to a particular post and there id no "Post Reply" available.
So to Dave0 I cant get photographs into the message - Copying jpg's and pasting them in the message does not work. I used the Attachments and load in four files (jpgs) but they do not attach themselves to the message So I am not able to send photographs of my controller display.
To Richard08 I loaded 4 files into attachments but nothing happened when I submitted the post.

To add a picture, beneath the text box where you write your comments, click on the Attachment tabs. Click on add files button. Navigate to the directory on your pc where the picture you want to post is located. Double click on it. Click on Submit to post.
Re: New to DCC. Cannot get Controller to recognise any locos.
It's not happy with the picture size I think, it complains if the picture is too many Mb, but does nothing when the size is greater than xxxx x yyyy pixels even if the file size is < whateverMb. I convert mine to 800 x 600 before uploading, no idea what the max is. Use 'Preview' to see what is actually going to be uploaded.SquiddlyDiddly wrote:

The above postings should get you posting pictures.
I personally use www.imgbb.com as my picture hosting site
free still with limits. I use pictures nowadays at 1000x750
as available space here was expanded a few years back.
I don't know what is wrong, I'm thinking either a faulty DCC
controller, or some error in setting up. Must admit I've never
had a problem with the DCC sets I've used : Lenz, Gaugemaster,
Hornby Selects (have 5 of them), Digitrax in both wireless and
wired forms.
Was your NCE set second-hand ? and if so from where ? I know
there are people who dispose of equipment they have trouble with.
A club member is always buying sound locos on Ebay and they are
always causing trouble- we usually sort out though so keep on trying
to provide conformation to actions and we may get there in the end.

Re: New to DCC. Cannot get Controller to recognise any locos.
Once you've done that what happens next is variable, depending on whatever? it will either do nothing with them or attach them to the end of the post. If you just want the whole lot at the end of the post, park your cursor there then click "paste in line" for each attachment. If you want them in specific places in the text, park the cursor where you want the first then click paste in line for it, repeat for subsequent pictures.SquiddlyDiddly wrote: I loaded 4 files into attachments but nothing happened when I submitted the post.
I've found that if you get them in the wrong places it's best to delete the attachment tags in the text, remove the files from the attachment panel then do it again. It seems to have a persistent memory of where files were attached until you specifically remove them. It is definitely an old school bit of coding which doesn't take well to "doing it on the fly". Quite reminiscent of the first generation of DTP programs. Oh how I miss them, "NOT"
Growing old, can't avoid it. Growing up, forget it!

OK, I see from postings elsewhere that the product is 'supplier unknown', purchased two years ago; and thus non-returnable: and despite lots of advice it is clearly in some respect busted.
My best suggestion, contact the service agent for the product:

Hmmm. Very surprising news considering the OP's posts and seeking advice elsewhere. Something doesnt add up.Bigmet wrote:OK, I see from postings elsewhere that the product is 'supplier unknown', purchased two years ago; and thus non-returnable: and despite lots of advice it is clearly in some respect busted.

Re: New to DCC. Cannot get Controller to recognise any locos.
Thanks for all your replies on posting pictures. In this day and age if it is so difficult to post a picture maybe I should give up trying and maybe stay with DC railway modelling. I am quite happy to load up a jpeg to a site but it seems that is not possible. Maybe best I find a site that is up with the latest technology.
Re: New to DCC. Cannot get Controller to recognise any locos.
MMmm This one is a little odd.
Posting pictures is easy, as already suggested there is www.Imgbb.com where posting and
linking is very easy. It must be as I use it !
With an unknown source for the NCE equipment I'd suggest there may be something wrong
with it. We also seem to have a poster who thinks this site has old fashioned systems as to
" Maybe best I find a site that is up with the latest technology." Seriously if someone is
unable to crack posting pictures I doubt DCC will ever be their 'thing' and yes stay DC.

Follow the instructions given for success.SquiddlyDiddly wrote:if it is so difficult to post a picture maybe I should give up trying
With all due respect, It's the not this site that is at fault.SquiddlyDiddly wrote: Maybe best I find a site that is up with the latest technology
I'll post this link again to the most basic of instructions with pictures, as I fear it has been left unread.
