The 'between the platforms' track level image is particularly effective.

The scene at Brockbank this afternoon. The station buildings are being cleared and the last train pulls into platform 3.
After nearly 9 years I have decided to dismantle Brockbank. I was very happy with the trackplan, but I'm getting a bad back constantly leaning over the layout, and also there's no room for a work bench The plan is to rebuild the layout with the baseboard on longer legs.
The layout with continue to exist minus all scenery for a few months, just so I can still run trains while I plan the new layout.

I am building an almost identical layout but with a hole in the middle for access and I also have access from 3 sides, baseboard height is ~30"
I get a bad back from just standing for to many hours.

Hope it sorts itself out, lovely layout :D

Since my last post, the railway has been about 75% dismantled . I changed my mind and decided against continuing to operate the layout in it's stripped down state, pending rebuilding.
Instead I decided to crack on with the dismantling , and this has turned out to be quite a time consuming, but not unenjoyable task.
Nearly all of the layout can be used again, only the platforms and some of the landscape went in the bin..
Some of the baseboard and legs will be used on my son's planned modern image layout, while the rest will be used on the new Brockbank.
