If you want a nice ready built jobbie Station Road steam do some nice stuff Terriertankengine

This is the linky to their projects page, the projects range from unsteamed new to early start projects. There is an LNWR precursor needing very minor work and boiler cert to make it go for £1250, an almost complete apart from some pipework stanier 2-6-0 tender loco for £1250, and there is a superb brand new 5" gauge 9F in the list for £6950, and for those that l;ike a challenge I see they have got an almost complete GNR Atlantic with a perculiar Flash boiler for £895.

I hasten to add I'm not associated with them, just buy bits now and then.

Well guys, the date is set it will be running on sunday at the chester le street club. Ive been doing a lot of work to it today. There are now only minor jobs left like sorting the front buffer beam and sorting the locking mechanism for the smoke box.

The plan is to have a play with it tomorrow on blocks and see if it runs well.

Well guys, its been a long week of work. But at 5pm today the fire was lit. And success! The loco performed well running on up on blocks. We kept her in steam for almost 3 hours and it got better throughout the evening as parts started to wear in. The locomotive just needs the draw bars making and it is ready to do its run on sunday at the Chester-le-street model club.

The only problems I can find is the right hand clack sticks occasionaly and that the axle pump bore is slightly too small and can only just keep up with the rate of consumption. This may be the only problem on sunday and that can be sorted out by boring the pump body out. The blast pipe nossil does not create enough draft so the locomotives blower needs to be kept on while running. This isnt a bg problem but will need to be sorted in the future.
