Yeah, but they went south from Bletchley to Selhurst Depot via Kensington Olympia.

Don't get me wrong, I think it'd be a great model to have running about, especially given the locos that were used at the time (the police 47, a VT 47/8 and a Great western 47/8, possibly more), but to spend hours recreating the translator vans and so on, I would rather just be right in being wrong if you know what I mean.

I had one of those Lima 60016, years ago. I had 9 in all, 60003/006/016/033/040/044/051/063/081. Same i had to get rid of them all but hey.

As for the 319, good on you mate, im a bit anal when it comes to doing things right, i 'cant' have other models other than those made by Bachmann, i bought a Midland Mainline 170, when they went to CT and had a addtional application of CT livery i 'couldnt' run them anymore and it went !

Im in a pickle now as one my 37's has been redone in DRS compass colours, not standard DRS as modelled!

I reckon a OCD or something! :D :D :D

I wish i could be, it my railway and i want to run thomas the tank with a Bachmann 66's double heading annie and charbel i will ! :D :D

Anyway i like the work you have done it mate, that graffti MK2? looks good.

I have 7 (I think,.....001/003/006/016/033/044/093....yeah 7), would have had more but for poor choices and no money. Since then, I have bought two Hornby 60s (007/081) and I hate them! Sure they are pretty and the doors open and they're smooth and everything, but neither of them will pull more than two wagons without derailing them, sent them to Hornby, when they came back, for a while they were fine, now? Same problem on 007 and at one end on 081, I still use them, don't get me wrong, but type 5 power for two VDAs is loonacy!!!

Bizzarely enough I had a conversation with SWMBO this morning about that sort of thing and I reckon everyone is fussy about something, which she denies ofcourse!

I liked it too, although the picture probably does it too much justice, SWMBO didn't like it much, but then all shes sees me paint is blue, blue, blue! Anyway, below is another, admittedly blurry view, of the coach (there are three in total), with a 47 on the rear. Its the only one with 'tags' on, but I made sure to include well known 'tagger' (hes well known in London atleast) TOX.

The motors for the 319 have arrived so at long last the Con(n)ex unit can be finished over the weekend, I also got my next project, a class 308 EMU, which I hope to start next week.

The brass bits.

Image

The plastic kit, not including the roof and chassis plate. Yes, the sides are in there!
Image

The seating kit.

I didn't really expect this level, of detail or this number of parts and perhaps I have bitten off more than I can chew here, but as they say in the fitness world, no pain, no gain!

Back on with the layout and a few of pics for you.

A couple of Lima 66s pull a ballast train. (bit blurred sorry)

Work on the 319.

Work on the PMS (Pantograph Motor Standard) underframe, bear in mind this is how the kit was built. The instructions do say to file down the equipment boxes and add new detail, but I tried this on a cut off and could not get a satisfactory finish, so left them as is, but on the layout who will notice?

The built PMS.
Image
Work on the ATS (Auxiliary Trailer Standard). Note the gap where the Toilet Emission Tank (TET) should be. This is not included in the kit. Also note that the same applies to the equipment boxes as on the PMS.

The ATS as built.

Unit numbers, etc, still to be added and the paintwork needs a touchup.

Unfortunately the 319 is back on the work bench, its test run less than satisfactory. The motor on the PMS was not liking the pointwork and has had to be returned to vendor. This has shown an error in my testing methods which do not include point work. Nevermind, something learnt there.

There is also a problem with my PC, so the pics of the 319 in formation cannot be posted at the moment. Rest assured when this is solved pics will be forth coming.
