haha well i've fived 3 acoustics so far lol so ya if ya like !

Yes all i did with the signals was to literally saw the bottom off or snap it away from the metal bas, measure i think about 3 cm up mask off the rest paint the bottom black.

Then drill a hole think it was abou 8 mm, my base board is 11 mm i went all the way through, put a piece of masking take on the underside, fill that with PVA glue, and then drop your signel in and let the glue go off, then you can remove your tape from the underside.

I've had no problems with it so far

I often use a similar approach to building guitars... work with what i got... sometimes works sometimes doesn't, But glad you like them!

Excellent work there so far, going to keep an eye on this one to see how it comes on.

Especially like the way you converted the signals, might have to take the Dremmel to mine (OK I only have the one at present) as the base just gets in the way and makes positioning the signal in the right place a pain, especially with my Deltic.

Perhaps you could put together an "idiots guide" to converting signals and post it in the forum somewhere.

We will see maybe for the future... when i buy the one / 2 extra signel i'll do a small tutorial, As i'm busy writting guitar making tutorials for my website atm lol

Usually I find small layouts like this annoying due to lack of interest or a samey appearance, but this one looks great, i think it could be the unusual shade of ballast or similar appearance to Horsted Keynes, either way it does look great, clearly done alot with the space available, pity the new engine isn't southern tho, what you need is a Q1, N, or when they come out T9! I get tho that money is a contraint, I've hat a wall myself, I want to get an arthur, but money is making me have to wait, especcially seen as I've got 2 new engines in the last couple of months (76079 and 92220).
I saw the schools and thought it looked great in the setting, pity it's not "Stowe". Anyways good luck with the railway, oh and btw, I gather your in Aylesbury, any chance I can see the layout sometime for real?

Well I have had a great day! Met a great guy pedanticmongrel (Dan) from the forum!

Lives just round the corner, Brought a few locos with him, as all of mine are old! I had my reservations about my layout as i have recently just started doing model railways again, and seem to of had a few problems, which i thought was a track issue.

Any way pedanticmongrel brought a Q1 and a standard Br Tank i think! Correct me if im wrong! These were some of the newer Hornby range with new motors and power pickup points on the wheels. I was seriously impressed with the new locos! Such smooth runners on my layout i couldnt believe it!

So now i know my problems and that is the old locos i have just cant hack it, I have recently tonite restored my School's class loco and seems to run better now!

We had a great day exchanging ideas and tips and some information! So thanks to Dan for taking the time to teach me about these new things i never knew!

And i hope to see pedanticmongrel's layout very soon!
