 Hi mick ......
My prob is now :? .....Where to find some coal :? ...... everyone I know has either gas CH or uses smokeless fuel ....[and would you believe that South Yorkshire is virtually built on the stuff? ] ....Nahh ...seriously,the next time I take my dog for a good long walk I'll be walking over to the old pit tip where the "Stubbin Colliery" used to be.
Your next prob is .....what exactly are they gonna be quarrying at your quarry :?: ....I've racked my brains for "something to quarry" outa my quarry ..... :?
 COAL  .....
Errr,Nahh ...seriously [again] ....there's some cracking pics of some NG coaches on the VE17 which Aidan posted today [dunno off-hand who's layout they're on,I'll have a search for them later]....but I'm thinking now that by making it a passenger NG railway [sorta "Kirklees Light Railway" style] .....it will give me chance to scratch build a little wooden "Halt" style station platform.......[ Well? ....what else could I do with all these "Costa Coffee" stirrer sticks that I've amassed ? ] ....

catch yer later matey...and all t' best for 2009

Ive got some coffee sticks aswell,i keep geting them from airport every time i go.
Wot i am thinking of doing is ive got a single tunnel on layout that goes know ware,so wot i was thinking was ide make it look like there just opening up a new line.
That way i can run some track just in side tunnel, and put some wagons on it and fill them with stone.

hi mick

nice to see an update to the layout after a while,i like the grimey coilery scene and the engine shed, with you being an ex miner and as you have a coal mine scene on the layout do you plan to use some of hornby skaledale and bachmann scenecraft coal mine items?
also i see your loco fleet looks like the offerings of the 70s and 80s,do you have any of the stunning new models from bachmann and hornby?,hornbys new blackfive locos are great and i am buying one next time i can get a loco! :D
the track weathering looks good and i am really glad that your loco fleet has been returned. :)

Looks great to me, something to aspire to.
1 small criticism (you did ask didn't you?), wouldn't it look better if the inside of the tunnel was 'blackened' ?

Hi Terry it is a good kit to build, but take your time with steps and hand rail on top of tower.
First one i built it tuck me a long time to get hand rail right,it wanted to bend all over the place   .
Also i found out it was alot better if you put the post on the wire first, before you bend the wire.
Have fun Mate.
