I was about to get one:

Until I saw it for real (rather than a computer graphic) of it:

Imagine a plastic one in real life that has been melted and that is what you have!

I must admit Hornbys stuff is rubbish apart from their new locos like the 08, 31, 50, 56 and 60.

Agreed - but the Hornby (ex-Lima_ 67 isn't too bad. Some of their skaledale stuff is pretty good (but always overpriced). In fact, I'd go so far as to say that if Hornby could get the 67's motor in their older models they'd all be a lot better. I'm still hoping that the "new" HST will actually be much improved... (Of course I will probably be proved wrong... and find traction tyres and all the rest...)

Their Skaledale stuff seems completely over-priced. Having said that, it obviously sells, otherwise they wouldn't keep adding stuff to the range. I wouldn't get it, but I was lucky enough to win the Hornby.com competition. I got 3 Skaledale Buildings, but only one looked realistic. The other two were a barn and a detached house that looked very toy-like.

i think thats a bit harsh... if it wasnt for hornby i wouldnt have a single railway thing. Apart from xtrkcad and my nrm membership, but i doubt i would even have them if i wasnt into railways
