So managed to spend some time on the layout today. I have managed to get 3 point motors setup and working. Turned out to be a lack of power on top of them not being lined up correctly. The only issue I have now are the red LEDs and red signal are not working. I am wondering if I have a dry joint on the point motor.

That is really all I have got done today. The only other thing is I have cut the groves on the level crossing to ensure trains went around. They do so quite happy. Also found that I need to adjust the platform as trains were catching on the inner loop. Oh and I had a damn good tidy up!!

Looking at the pictures, I'm a little confused lamby. Is that a seep point motor on top of the board? Shouldn't it be mounted underneath?
How does it work to change the point when sited on top of the baseboard?

It is on top. I am moving it to below. I tried something but it did not work. One thing I did not remove this afternoon.

Re red LED's, if the green are working, check the polarity of the red LED's?

Also check the led isn’t dead after checking the polarity

Yeah I forget to tidy and end up with more and more stuff out! Never good as always looks a mess and can’t see anything properly.

Yeah shall double check the polarity. Just seems odd that the signal LED is also not working.

It looks a lovely layout and design. Though I try to avoid curved points, I love the way they sweep on your layout. They give the illusion of space. The only thing I would alter is to slightly shorten the one siding to end parallel to the two next to it, as it looks too close to the main line. I know in reality it is not likely to cause any issues. It is more of a visual thing. You can easily cut an old piece of track to have the right length if needed.

I had never really thought of it with regards to that siding, but now you mention it it does look a little close. It doesn’t effect any running, but I may well take my Dremel to it and shorten it by around 10mm.

As long as the siding length is not for a specific set of coaches or something of a specific length that if one cuts it the train will no longer fit! I thought I'd mention this just in case!
You could add the bityou cut off to the siding nearby to make the three sidings a similar length. Such a short end section doesn't have to be electrified as the buffers will sit on that bit.

Im looking foward to watching this progress. Theres plenty of operational interest. I may have missed it but what did you use for the level crossing?

My first look at this Forum, and happened across your track schematic, then scrolled down. My first thought was, "by golly, he really pulled that off! " Scrolled down further, thought, "wow, this is really going to be a masterpiece." Truly excellent job, a standard by which others are measured. As an American British OO enthusiast, I am always charmed, and a little surprised, at the heavy emphasis one finds of passenger service upon UK layouts. Yours is no exception. In the USA, the emphasis is typically upon freight service with passenger service sort of an afterthought, frequently. One is more likely to see freight depots than booking halls, for example.
