Hi Boys & Girls,

As promised I've now added the finishing touch's to the Large House Kit, I'm really impressed with how this one has turned out. I've decided it was time to move on a little & add just that bit more detail, therefore curtains have been added to all the windows, a front & rear gutter down pipe & at the front of the building I've added some plant containers.

So last night around 23:30hrs I decided to have a go at building this new kit, sorry I couldn't take any photo's but those silly energy efficient lights just didn't do the kit any justice at all. I will try & get some today during daylight hours.

Now I've done this kit it might be a good time to add these features to the older ones ? :? It will just bring them up to date & make them just that little bit better.

You all know the link by now, so have fun & enjoy.

Sounds interesting, may have a go at putting it together after I've finished your watertower. :D

Hi Kiddies,

I've taken some photo's showing the new kit in place on my layout, I'm very happy how she has turned out, here she is butted against a Metcalfe Corner Shop Kit.

The white barge boards are not in the kit, but these are just strips of card cut 5mm in width & run down the roof apex, very simple up grade.

Please feel free to have a go.

Thank you,

Mike.

looking very good Mike, Tried the Tudor House, I will print it out  my printer just wasn't printing it properly, first it cut off the edges and whenever I tried to resolve the problem it just did not print, so I took some screen shots of the kit and am now trying to get the computer to stay on long enough print :x

Hi Ben,

I've not had this before so I've just tested it again on my set-up & it's printed fine, must admit it's very close to the left hand margin so I'm assuming each printer might have margin limits that it can't go beyond ? (Didn't think about this before....... ) Going into the original master file, I'm moving everything to the right just by a fraction, hope this will cure the problem.

I'll then post it back onto the web in the new format, should only take me 30mins or so,I'll drop you a PM when I've done Ben.

If anyone else has had any issue with any of the kits not printing on the page correctly can you please let me know & I'll see if it's something I can fix locally at my end.

Cheers.

You're too kind! But dont worry about it,I managed to get the computer to stay on long enough to print the pictures out, and I have made the kit (with some spares, and I have modified the chimney slightly, as I wasn't too keen on the supplied ones

here's my attempt :)

Hi Ben,

That's pretty good, I seriously like the mod you've made by adding a side chimney stack, I'll have to give that one a go myself. I could also include this option in version 2 when I get round to adding the curtains etc.

Thanks for the feed back Ben,

Just one other bit of feedback (sorry, getting picky now :P ) It said about the baywindow being part of it, and in another bit saying that it would be in the next one, I'm guessing you meant it would in the next one in both bits :P

Thank You very much for making these :) they shall take up much of time

Hi Ben,

Yes it's still work in progress regards these kits, I'm still trying to work out the final bits.

In the mean time I've updated the two small houses & the tudor house with the latest style windows including curtains.

Just follow the link as normal.

Cheers,

Hey Mike, just downloaded your second house kit. (the one with the lighter coloured brick, and no guiness ad)

I can see already, it's a huge improvement since the last one. Just hope my modelling skill(what's that?) will help do this kit justice.

Just finished the watertower aswell. ;) It's addictive this lark is. :D

Hi Stew,

I'm slowly getting better, as I learn new stuff & get new ideas I can add them to the basic kits. Still they are good board fillers & I have one spot on my layout that will just have these kits & these only. It will be a little piece of Wordsworth layout with all my own designed work on it.

Anyway, I have now completed updating all the windows within all the kits within the range last night, got these up onto the site but never updated this thread, therefore a few people may already know.

I think all these kits now look just that little bit better than my first proto type buildings so I know I'm going in the correct direction. That could be it for a while as I'm still stuggling with the next 3 kits, how I fit all the pieces onto the paper & making it easy for the builder to follow. You will all have seen these other 3 kits some where on Wordsworth at some point. There is the fire station (Still being used on Wordsworth), a single track engine shed (Still being used on Wordsworth), & a double track shed (This one has been replaced with a Scalescene version), what I can do is put some photo's on my site showing the up coming kits ????? :?

Well there you have it, download one & have some fun.

Hi Boys & Girls,

Hope I'm not boring you all too much, I've just uploaded another shop kit with a slightly different front, this one has the door in the center of the building with shop windows either side of the door.

I've also done three different coloured front 3 Storey house kits, these are the houses you see with coloured render on them, normally by the sea side. These kits are still being loaded to the site so might not be available straight away.

I believe I'm coming to the end to what I can design using MS Word......Great I hear you all shout, he'll stop posting shortly.... !!!!!

Therefore because I actually like doing this kind of work I've ordered myself some proper software, Corel Draw. I hope to teach myself & maybe get these kits improved with even more detail ?

If it works & I can do them don't panic they will still be free to all who want them.

Must go now, work to do in the loft, I've a station cover canopy to finish.

Remember the kits are in RAR format so you'll need a program that can read this, WinRar or ZipGenius are ideal & also free. The file inside the compressed folder is PDF so Adobe will also be required.

Cheers.

I have not built any of your kits yet, as my 0 gauge "layout" is a pile of timber, a few sleepers (card of course!) and some ballast. However, one fine day when work permits I will, as they look good to me. I am sure no one here "hopes you stop posting". You have a talent which you are giving freely, so I say a sincere Thank You, and don't talk yourself down!

Don't Talk yourself down Mike,

You're good at what you do, you produce a lot of kits, and a variety of them. They might not have the detail of Metcalfe or Scalescenes, but they are delightful to build, and what's better, is you have fun making them on the PC.

So don't talk yourself down. :)

Mike,

Just stumbled on this thread and hence your kits - kudos and compliments to you for both producing neat buildings like this, and releasing them to the world for free !

I've downloaded them and when I do (eventually) start on a layout I will be using some of them :)

Way to go !!!
