Simon,
The trackwork "IS" SMP bullhead. I don't know if they're still around, I like it, and it's very close to scale. The pointwork is scratch built.

Re: MORE PICS & TRACKPLAN
Yes smp is still availble www.smpscaleway.co.uk their now part of the marcway range. I too prefer hand made track it flows better than the peco range although due to space restrictions on this next project i am doing i have opted for peco points with smp track.
Just looking at the buildings are the depot & goods shed superquick kits with plasticard over the top to change the image?

Re: FIRST POST WITH PICS
Merged the 2 threads that were running for this layout.
Re: FIRST POST WITH PICS
Some really nice photos again and nice to see the water tower added at the colliery.
What sort of camera have you used to take the photographs? They contain an impressive depth of field.
I for one would be interested in seeing any photo's you have available documenting the construction of the layout and scenic's. Looking forward to seeing more of this layout in the near future.

Re: FIRST POST WITH PICS
tinsleytmd ,
I'm glad that SMP are still around. There are some excellent layouts around only to be let down by the track, some of them, if they were real, the rails would be up to your knee!
I've been away from model railways for so long I have'nt a clue what's about anymore!
The engine sheds and goods are Superquick, clad over, all the other buildings are scratched except for the Wills signal box.
I use a Canon 40D it has 2.8 to 32 App.But it's a bit big when trying to get shots under bridges etc. I use a mirror to see the screen.
I have'nt any pics of the construction, I did'nt think to take any at the time, but i'm only too glad to explain anything....if I can remember how I did things
By the way the 61xx is a South Eastern Finecast with an etched chassis, Mashima motor with 60.1 ratio and flywheel for ultra slow movement.
That "Stuff" above the layout is for sound absorbtion, I also use the room as a recording studio.
I have a few more pics if anyone is interested.
