Hattons now say due November, but not which year. They can send it along with my Bachmann L&YR 2-4-2T, that's due in November too. Might save on postage.

It was originally supposed to be out March this year. I did ask them then if there were problems but they said they were just finalising the livery details.
I read elsewhere that Heljan have had problems with another commission model and there are other stories of delays with Chinese manufacturers.
Now they have said the beginning of 2014 when I posed the question on their FB page.

I can wait.... As this will be Heljans first foray into kettles for the UK market, and lets face its not a straight forwards model to produce, theres going to be Heljan reputaion riding on it. I'd rather wait and they get it right than it produced early with faults.

It's a finished article and ready to go. It seems waiting for a production slot is the problem.

Not expecting mine until May, lets hope the wait has been worth it.

The first of, anyway. These are a couple of fixed bunker LMS liveried versions, further livery variants and especially the rotating bunker version still to come.

So, who's going to be first to see how it runs, and then holds up in extended service?

Not me. The first of mine isn't due in until the end of March and have to wait until May for the second.

Arrived - unwrapped - explored - rewrapped - to be returned. Missing parts which are cosmetically too obvious to tolerate.

Quite so. But hopefully a good replacement will follow.

It is extremely impressive however, very heavy and doubtless will pull every piece of rolling stock you have........

I think I'll start with 50 coal trucks !

It does seem a but hit and miss whether or not you get a 'good un'. Some have been fine, others not. Interesting video of it here on a 1 in 30 gradient with 65 wagons...

Strange that we are told that the only ones available at the moment have the standard coal bunker and the one on the You Tube Video has a rotating bunker.!!!
