I posted earlier about whether theses kits would be suitable for my grandson. I had them all ready, glued to card, cut out and scored. So he did the folding and gluing. He LOVED them. He's been choosing other kits and we are now up to kit number 5, and HE'S been asking to make them. France has been unusually rainy for the week he has been with us. Mike, you have been a life saver! Thank you,
Best wishes

Hi Kiddies,

Just back from our hols, just catching up on a few things.

Hi Glyn,

Glad I could help out, it's been an odd kind of summer this year, still it gives us a good excuse to be indoors.

So what's next in the Wordsworth Range ?

I hope to have the two new Island Platform Building kits uploaded tomorrow if all goes to plan. I'm also going to upload some A4 sheets of brick paper, this is for the modellers that have the houses / station kits but want to make their own brick walls for the boundaries etc etc.

Catch you later,

Mike.

My railway people live in a village. I wouldn't mind something that marks the centre - small Saxon church?
Also what about cobbles for the roads?
Very twee I know, but...:)
Hope you had a good holiday,
Best wishes

Hi Glyn,

Super Holiday which we both certainly needed, it's been quite a taxing year to date.

Whilst on holiday I was taking notes of various buildings we came across & we did spot some that could very easily be converted to fit the Wordsworth Kit building style. One of which was a very small church, believe they call them Kirks in Scotland so watch this space, also came across a tiny petrol station / garage (Long closed down am afraid) but would make another excellent model.

Cobble stones ? Should be able to knock an A4 sheet together very quickly, all you would need to do is cut out the correct sizes & glue in place.

As I promised last night, uploads have been completed so the platform sections are available & island buildings for both Maisy & Daisy designs. I've also included within this upload the first two free A4 brick effect papers, WMR 1 & WMR 2, these are the brick effects used whilst creating Maisy & Daisy. Therefore if yopu wish to create something to enhance these two kits the paper is there for you.

Hope you all enjoy,

Mike.

Your kits are great Mike. I have downloaded all the current ones and am working on building them. Photos will follow. They are a great learning experience and I am enjoying them immensely.

Just one thing though the Maizy Island Platform download is password protected so it will let me download it but it will not let me print it. The others you uploaded are fine.

Cheers

Scott

and if a I may add to the list of requests, perhaps a farm? with pigstys, stables and a cattle shed and poultry ark :) maybe some roads and a good shed ?

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the feedback regards the password, not sure what happens sometimes when saving these things out as PDF as the options are preset, still I've now corrected the issue & uploaded the version that should allow you to print.

Sorry about that.

Glad you are liking the Wordsworth Kit Range, hope they are giving you fun & experience all in one. I'll add your wish list items onto my possible kit list, I now have a few to work on.

Look forward to seeing your completed kits.

Hi Troop,

Whilst the wife wasn't looking I've been doing a little more work on the next two kits. I've done the drawing stage which I'm now happy with, I've also completed the first proto-type designs ready for cutting out, these have been printed & look fine but I just need some time to have a go gluing them to card & then assembling each kit.

Once I get the two proto-types built I want to use these on South Fangore Hill, & North Fangore Hill as I believe both will look great for the little village scenes I have in mind.

Once completed & happy with the construction I'll then get them ready for the web site.

For those who want a sneak preview see the below diagrams.

Image
First up is the small Kirk which I've called St Michael

Image
Next up is the very small country petrol station which I came across whilst on holiday (With a little artistic licence)

I know it's hard to visualise these in 3D but I think you will all be happy with the final product.

Catch you all later.

Hi Boys & Girls,

I've got a very busy weekend planned, or I do now. I had a little spare time on hand which just had to be used designing another model. Ever since visiting the Strathspey Railway I feel in love with a signal box which we passed by, I just had to have a go making an artistic impression suitable for the Wordsworth Range.

Have a look at the diagram what the final kit will look like. The diagram shows the model with a Wordsworth name plate, this will be removed from the actual one I will eventually upload.

Strathspey Railway Signal Box. (Or the Wordsworth take on it)

So this weekend I now have three proto-type kits that need testing, if all goes to plan I'll get all three uplaoded Sunday evening. I'll drop a line in the section once this is done, so keep watching this thread.

Time for some shut eye as I'm up for work at 04:30hrs.

Any idea's or feedback is welcome, hope you are all waiting for these 3 new buildings to hit the web........

Until next time it's good night.

Like the signal cabin Mike, mainly brick built ones are that bit different. You need a ground floor door at one end or t'other to access the frame room, and a ground level slot along the front for the rodding and cables to come out through. Usually there's a little wooden plank bridge over them. You could do a platform mounted version, turn the frame room windows on their sides, move them up to just below the name board, and chop the whole thing off immediately below them. There's a sort of very low tunnel under the platform for the "works" to come out. I guess you must enjoy doing these I'm sure I'm not alone in thanking you for sharing them with us.
