Don't think I have posted this as of yet on this thread, but seeing as the end of the layout is now quite close, then I would round up a few things. The last competition from a couple of months ago, some of you may of seen it, the Big Blue Bulleid, is now running reliably and has proven to be incredibly strong, pulling 70 odd wagons with ease... who knows what it can actually pull.

I am building something slightly different this time please feel free to follow, as it may be the last big build I do for the foreseeable as money will be very tight.

The first picture looks vaguely familiar from Hornby Magazine a few years back - is it taken on a layout called Hinton Parva by any chance? It's great to see this loco in action - it's certainly impressive!

Indeed got that in one SkyBlue, yes Hinton Parva by High Wycombe and District Model Railway Society, believe its out again in the next week or so over at Beaconsfeild for their exhibition, doesn't go out much these days, getting a bit old. We occasionally run things on it hopefully shall try the second rake of 60 odd behind it see if it can manage as the first lot of 70 was easy.

It will be very sad to see the end of your layout Matt :( I've followed it from the start and been really inspired (so much so I had to built my own Horsted Keynes haha).

What do you plan to do with the layout, dismantle it? Or maybe store it somewhere or sell it?

Nice work :) Is that the proposed "super" merchant navy or just a what if model?

SRinSussex
Its now 10 years old, so been used abused, moved, in and out, broken, track is in general poor condition, it will probably see out the year, depending on money and how the move goes, as well as finding employment then, hopefully a rebuild as there are areas i am not happy with, and could be improved, but the main factor is the track work which has been consistently patched up over the years, and is now becoming a right pain.
So I expect some of the buildings, points, lineside details will be saved, and start from scratch, I have 3 boards of Sheffield park started 2 years ago and not really got anywhere so may be that to. But could be a few years before another is started.

The Chief
It's what was originally deigned by Bulleid before it got over-ruled by the SR chief engineer i think, but started as a 4-8-2 and then 2-8-2 then after the rejection went to the standard 4-6-2 pacific arrangement.. might explain the slipping...
Quite a bit of the 4-8-2 or 2-8-2 Bulleid probably got after severing under Gresley and the P2.
An interesting build though, and a very strong model, turns a few heads, sadly i started something and now someone i know at the club i attend is building the 2-8-2. :D

This weekend is the Bluebell Railways Model railway weekend,
I should be around both of the days, but mainly for one reason, some of you who have been here for 5 years will remember the Captain Baxter model I built from Scratch on an LnY pug chassis. After people were requesting me to build another for them, I cracked under pressure for the past year, but mainly in the last few months I have managed to produce A 3D print of Captain Baxter for people who are interested and quite an easy model.

Model is split in to 2 parts, Body and parts this is mainly for print quality reasons.
I hope to have the prototype with me all weekend, in it's finished state (not painted)

You can find the modes on Shapeways:
body: http://shpws.me/IqLZ
Parts: http://shpws.me/HoB7

I have also re-released the original Baxter build in PDF: https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B_s5cq ... VSNFU/view

Re: Horsted Keynes OO, - Captain Baxter Kit available.

Hopefully in May, I will fire up the layout possibly for the last time ever, infact it never got used last year at all...
I have been busy on the Isle of Wight, and also doing some new You Tube things, workbench videos and how to sort of things.

Finally thanks to OliverSR I received a standard 4mt tank... which means after 11 years, I now have the entire Bluebell fleet of locos, the tank was renumbered to 80064.

Image

Also with the full collection I might as well go down the route of loco's that the Bluebell was going to acquire.. Completed a little while ago on the Kit build forum, and also now in PDF format on the website, K-Class 2341

Image

Before the layouts eventual end... I have some videos planned for it.
Firstly.... we are going underground.

It's a shame that you don't have the chance to enjoy this model, the work you've put in to it and the rolling stock has been very enjoyable to follow. Hopefully when the time comes, someone else will be able to take it on and enjoy it for years to come rather than it having to be dismantled.

Thanks nickbrad I shall be definitely dismantling it in the not to distant future as most of the expensive bits are useable or salvageable. It is a shame not having a layout at this particular moment in time, I have quite a few new things to run sadly no where to run them.

Hi All

Not been to busy on the layout due to not actually living with it, and future moves house moves ect...
I went back in early March and did some videos and website updates ect...

The first video released this bank holiday, has a London Underground theme, Featuring Metropolitan 1, which runs on a modified M7 chassis, L150 which has been modified with the Westinghouse pump on the smoke-box, sadly I couldn't run my kit Built Metropolitan A-Class due to a balance issue, which I need to look at when it's on track and not on a rolling road.

Plenty of model work going on in terms of rolling stock, more 3D printing, ect...

Completed another set of coaches for the layout, although the layout has seen better days, and will be probably retired eventually I will continue building Bluebell stock as I hope to rebuild Horsted Keynes and possibly add on Sheffield park, who knows.

So I have now finished off the 4 wheeler stock, which comprises of LCDR, SECR, LBSC.

Brake 3rd, LCDR

All 3rd, LCDR / SECR

Saloon / Brake 2nd, LCDR / SECR

New arrivals:
Latest loco to arrive to finish off my Bulleid collection, 21C1, Channel Packet from Hornby, nice model runs well, I still question some of the design but overall pretty good, 8-9 coach pulling power. Now waiting on etched plates.

Image

Also new... well newish from December... Wickham Rail car... runs surprisingly well, Just need some people on the driving car...
