Ever wanted a really small 0-4-0T from the place where the UK's railway began?

No price as yet, but their yet to arrive little Hunslet 0--6-0T was floating about £110 at retailers various.

Now in stock at Rails of Sheffield at £123.20 with the Locomotion special also available from there as well for £144.95.

Presumably other places will have them as well by now.

If half as good as the positively fabulous Stirling single Rapido delivered for the NRM, it will be a goodun.

[tangent]I am waiting for their next LNER group tank engine, the GNR origin Ivatt J13 'Humpy'. I will have it as preserved in 1959 by 'The Captain', as this was local to me as a boy, kept and operated in central Herts, where I still live.

this little beastie does look quite good, while its LNER and the right era I don't have any little yard suitable for it planned..

Mine (LNER twin safety valve version) arrived at the weekend past, just gave it a test run - beautiful. I have a deliberately tighter than the 'minimum proprietry curves' oval and it zipped round without a blink, just as the prototype was intended to do. Pulls and pushes wagons equally well. As Sam's Trains said, at £123 it aint cheap but it is a fine model for shunting layouts.

Appreciate your very positive report. The photos I have seen thus far, the construction looks very neat, as much metal as possible packed in by the looks of it. (Must resist, it's Rapido's J52 that's the fit for my modelling.)

Any chance of weighing your specimen and reporting; imperial or metric, either will do? I can multiply or divide by 28.4.

There doesn't appear to be any metal packed into it at all.

Well the Y7 is a very small 0-4-0T: the heavier models I believe are of classes which both have a large saddle tank which most likely provides more internal volume for weight?
