Hi there people.
Does anyone know of a good way to get smoke oil into a 50+ year old loco?
Maybe a syringe & needle type of thing is something i could use? Or a dropper/pipette?
What ever it is I need something approx 4/5cm long & very thin to get down the chimney & into the smoke unit hole.
I'm currently having to improvise using the end from an oiler pen to place down the chimney with the smoke oil bottle squeezing a few drops out at the top then move bottle & blow down it.
Thanks

The smoke oil came in little plastic squeezy vessels with a narrow neck that went down the chimney, so anything with that sort of arrangement will do. As you realise a syringe is an option, also a little pipette with a rubber bulb; regularly used in time past as an 'eye dropper'. A pharmacy should have such - explain what you want it for.

@Bigmet.
Yeah something like you said would be good. Thank you.
Just can't seem to find it on the high street, in shops etc.
Kind regards

A glue syringe might do the job. Available on eBay and the like.
(See also ink filling syringe).
