The "Way Out West" Railway.

Post by Mountain »

Set in Ireland, this railway and the goings-on around it are interesting! Here is a re-upload showing the start of this practical line...

No doubt many of you will explore the rest including "Tornado", the lines only locomotive so far...

Have been watching this for a while, nice to see the approach when its "this thing has to earn its keep" not "this needs to be an exact replica"

ingenious solutions to some problems too, and done in a fun way

I did enjoy that! I've bookmarked the series so I can watch it at my leisure. 8)

Yes!

I don't think anything I make is an exact replica though a few things are "Based on"...

The thing I love is allowing ones model railway to have a character of its own, which I feel can be more rewarding.

Having said that, his "Field Railway" is an interesting prototype to copy in model form! :D

Phred. That one is not the first he did, but he had to re-do some of the earlier videos. Having said that, there is a LOT to look at! You will be there for a while I think! :D

(Also be aware they have two different channels. One is more dedicated to the animals and smallholding side of things. The other is the "Workshop Stuff" (Includes the railway) which you will probably find more interesting. There might be a few of the very earliest stuff on the other channel but nearly all is on the "Workshop Stuff" channel as far as I am aware).

Actually I would find that side interesting as well and could probably get the Missus watching it. We used to have a little hobby farm/tourist business when we were living 'out bush' so we find these sorts of things appealing.

Grew up on smallholdings. My Dad would often invent things to do specific purposes, though we didn't have a railway. (Not to say I didn't want one!)
