Premium ID Backscenes
Premium ID Backscenes
What is the best brushable contact adhesive for fixing Premium ID backscenes without removing the protective film and not using the self adhesive backing. I have enquired with the makers but their reply is very uninformative. Thanks in advance
Re: Premium ID Backscenes
Apologize but I have not tried those. Sprayglue maybe?

If you're not using the self adhesive facilty, all youre sticking is the protective film. There's a danger the backscene will curl off this as this has only minimum adhesion to the film. Especilly if it gets warm.
Re: Premium ID Backscenes
Hmmm, why use another form of adhesive when it already has adhesive?
And if wanting to use another form of adhesive, why not buy Delux Materials Backscene glue and the non premium non glued backscenes?

Re: Premium ID Backscenes
I wanted the strength and durability of the Premium as opposed to the paper in the loft.

Re: Premium ID Backscenes
could try a spray mount adhesive and then also use the sticky backing together.
in a loft though spray stuff may not be a good idea, could try the old standby - wall paper paste

In that case, Id suggest peeling the backing off the backscene and using the self adhesive to stick it to some wallpaper lining paper or similar. Then, you should be able to use virtually any other adhesive to stick the premium backscene to whatever you want ie hardboard, ply etc.

Thanks for the tips guys, ended up painting the ply, rubbing down to a smooth finish and the applying by using the self adhesive on the sheets. Appears to have worked quite well, with no bubbling even after several weeks in a chilly loft.
