HS II - Shunting with Kadees

I had to rush off before I'd finished the last entry, so a Pt.2

To try and run this wee loco on HSII I had to snap out one Kadee
and add a standard tension-lock that could hook over the wire I
fitted originally.



When pushing the hook gets pushed against the bufferbeam and it
worked surprisingly well.
Alongside each other you can see there isn't much difference in size,
but Mini just has it.



Is there anything smaller ?

As a bit of fun, that's a great little loco. It reminds my of the old Bubble cars that knocked around before most forum members were born.

What do you do when there is no building under construction ?
Play with something you did before, in true 'Blue Peter' style.

Well HSII is usually available after opening the lid & switching power on.
I can only spend so long in an unheated shed, but from today's running.







Working the Ruston again, I love these little locos and on live-frog systems there
is no need for a pick-up truck !! 100% stall free running.

I'm still not game to try and pull the truck off mine. Just threw some junk on there. For its size, it hauls like a champion.

Hi Phred,

I'm not on commission from Hornby, but why wouldn't anyone not want one !
I couldn't resist having two and have been drawn to another livery, who knows ?
With live switched frogs the performance is almost bewildering. Never used mine
with the pickup truck.

Same here, got one of the very first batch, never used the pickup wagon, quite steady across live frogs (I did worry that at real low speed the wheels might fall in the flangeway gap, but it's fine.) Without a load the real things tend to move off like a Hornby 0-4-0.
