In 1957 the Manx Electric Railway was nationalised by the Manx Government. The Modern Tramway Journal reported on this in the late 1950s.

This is a third article about railways in the Isle of Man. Each is a retrospective, looking back at events in the history of the railways.

Modern Tramway Journal included a short article in October 1963 about developments in 1899 on the Isle of Man, and particularly about the use of 'Bonner Wagons' by the Isle of Man Tramways and Electric Power Company Limited which became the Manx Electric Railway.
