New Gaugemaster 'Unity' points controller

Post by centenary »

Mods, please move to the relevant sub forum if this isnt the right place.

Gaugemaster just sent me a mail to announce their new, 8 point controller unit, Unity. This looks similar to DCC Concepts Alpha Central but with some different features.

The Unity does not look DCC compatible as it mentions on the box CDU Outputs and only has a max 16 outputs if 2 Unitys are joined together. The info is rather brief so if you have more than 16 CDU points on your lay out, there's no info for you!

Ooh, could this be a move toward phasing out their traditional boxed integrated DC controllers?

And call me old fashioned, but branding a new range of DC and DCC products under the one name 'Infinity', strikes me as potentially confusing. Making it simple for the customer is always a winner, avoids all the 'my Infinity Crucifer unit(DC) won't talk to my Infinity Deacon unit(DCC)'. Call the two systems Spaghetti and Lasagne (other name choices available) and it's clear.
